Montreat Designated as a Community Wildlife Habitat for the 12th Year

Montreat Landcare Chair Martha Campbell presented Mayor Tim Helms and Environmental Commissioner Ann Vinson with the Community Wildlife Habitat Certificate. The Town of Montreat Tree Board has been selected as a recipient under the North Carolina Forest Service’s Urban and Community Forestry (U&CF) Grant Program. The project, entitled “Town of Montreat Public At-Risk Tree Inventory and Short-Term Plan”, was selected among 10 other proposals this year and will receive a grant award of $4,994.
