The Public Works Department has asked for all residents, visitors and guests to steer clear of downed trees, power/cable lines and work areas where Town Staff and Duke Energy Staff are currently working. There are a lot of trees/lines down and Town Staff is working diligently to get everything cleared in a timely and safe…

Please be aware that there are downed power lines and cable lines all over Montreat. The lines could be in driveways, yards, main roads and side roads. Please do not under any circumstances touch or attempt to move these lines because they could still be live and could cause serious injury.

Water is out on Tennessee Road…..it could potentially be awhile until fixed. The Water Department is actively fixing the problem. Thank you for your understanding!

Town Staff has noticed that the bear activity has increased around (and in) the Sanitation Convenience Center along with an increase of Montreat residents/guests using the center during the day and even more after the sunsets.
