In Fiscal Year 2017/2018 the Montreat Board of Commissioners set aside funds for building a new Public Works building.
Timeline
- Spring and Summer, 2017 - Staff identified location. Board of Commissioners re-zoned area and set aside funds for the design and construction of a new Public Works building
- November, 2017 - Power to Well House 4 pulled; Demolished building
- Winter, 2018/2019 - Capped and officially abandoned Well 4; Design-Build Bid advertised
- Spring and Summer, 2019 - Site prepped; retaining wall constructed; Bids re-advertised; Purchase Bid awarded
- Fall, 2019 - Building design and materials purchased and delivered; engineering and construction bids awarded
