Water System Hydrant Flushing July 13, 2026

The Town of Montreat Water Department will be conducting routine fire hydrant flushing throughout Town over the coming days as part of our ongoing water system maintenance program.

During this process, some customers may experience temporary water discoloration due to the stirring of naturally occurring sediment within the water mains. While this discoloration may be noticeable, it does not typically pose a health risk.

If you experience discolored water, we recommend running an outside spigot for approximately 10 minutes, or until the water runs clear. This should help flush the affected water from your service line.
