Fire Threat High

As you may know, there are currently three active brush/wildfires in the Old Fort area, only one of which is reasonably contained. Please be aware of this potential threat to Montreat due to high winds and dry conditions.

  • Please refrain from any fires, including in fireplaces even with spark arrestors
  • Stay alert for any signs of fires and call 911 if you detect any active fires
  • Be prepared to evacuate if such an announcement is made
