A Reminder About Trash Day

Five various bear-resistant trash and recycling bins lined up on a grassy lawn.

Just a reminder that the Town has transitioned to a new residential trash collection service vendor, CWS. As part of the change, residential trash collection has moved to Thursdays on a regular basis. There are no other changes for residents: Solid waste must be placed in plastic bags with the drawstring tied at the top. Recycling must be placed in either blue or clear bags with the drawstring tied. Bags may be mixed in the same container. If containers are placed at curbside, they must be bear resistant. Containers should be placed curbside by 8:00 am on the day of pickup.

Of course, the Town’s Convenience Center remains available for all residents seven days per week from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The gate is locked. If you have not obtained a key fob for the gate, please request a fob from Town staff at info@townofmontreat.org or call 828-669-8002, ext. 1.
