Winter Storm Fern Update – Jan. 25, 2026

Roads and sidewalks are extremely icy throughout Montreat. Our Public Works crews are maintaining roads where possible, but conditions remain very dangerous.

For your safety, please stay off the roads unless absolutely necessary.

Precipitation is expected to continue through Sunday afternoon, with backside winds and snow showers developing and persisting into Monday. During this period, additional power outages are possible. Winds gusting over 25 mph may bring down trees weighed down by ice.

Trash pickup is delayed until Tuesday to allow crews to focus on storm response and for conditions to improve.
