Council Meeting: August 8 The August Town Council meeting will be held on Thursday, August 8 at 7:00pm in the Walkup Building. As usual, it will be preceded by the Public Forum at 6:30. CLICK HERE for a copy of the agenda. Please come. All are invited.
Town Hall Update If you’ve driven by the Town Hall construction site, you’ve no doubt observed lots of activity recently. Footings were poured last week and foundation block is being laid this week. Other site work will begin shortly. Our contractor, Sineath Construction, says we are still on track for a July 2020 completion.
Please note: Two weeks ago we told you that the path in front of the construction on Montreat Road would be closed to all foot and bicycle traffic. After hearing from some of you about the dangers of walking on the side of Montreat Road, we were able to negotiate re-opening the path with a construction safety fence adjacent to it. However, please be extremely careful crossing the construction driveway due to the uneven footing of the rock and construction traffic in and out of the entrance.
