Update on Planning and Zoning Review Process
The Planning and Zoning Commission met recently to begin a seven month process to review the Zoning Ordinance and make recommendations for changes at the request of the Montreat Board of Commissioners.
The Committee began the process by taking public comment on all aspects of the Ordinance. The Commission will meet every third Thursday of the month at 5:00pm until July to review different sections of the Ordinance before writing a final recommendation. Opportunities to comment will continue each month. Please come and offer your views on development in Montreat. The next meeting will be February 21 in the Walkup Building.
Volunteerism helps move our Town government forward. One of the most important volunteer opportunities is service on committees and commissions. Several are in need of volunteers including the Board of Adjustment and the Planning and Zoning Commission.
