Planning and Zoning Begins Review Process
Last year, the Montreat Board of Commissioners asked staff to consider a process to review the Zoning Ordinance to identify opportunities to simplify development regulations. Yesterday, the Planning and Zoning Commission began a seven month process to review the Zoning Ordinance and make recommendations for changes.
The Committee began the process by taking public comment on all aspects of the Ordinance. The Commission will meet every third Thursday of the month until July to review different sections of the Ordinance before writing a final recommendation. Opportunities to comment will continue each month. Please come and offer your views on development in Montreat. Watch for announcements of the meetings on the website and in the Montreat Minute.
