VIOLATORS WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FINE OF UP TO $250 AND/OR DISCONNECTION OF THEIR WATER SERVICE.
Residents are requested to reduce their water use by 25%. To provide a strong incentive to reduce excessive water use, conservation water rates will be enacted at two times the normal rate. Residents can assist the Town’s enforcement effort by reporting potential violations or problems to the Town Services Office at (828) 669-8002. Public Works Department employees, the Town Code Administrator and Police Department Officers will be used to enforce the Phase II Water Restrictions.
A decision to lift these mandatory restrictions will be made based on continued monitoring of customer usage and the production yield of Montreat’s six wells.
